Just before the match against Ohod in the King Cup of Champions, Cristiano Ronaldo received heartbreaking news about his aunt. His mother, Dolores Aveiro’s sister, Gorete, passed away. The Portuguese star has not commented on his aunt’s untimely passing as the family mourned the loss of their favorite aunt. Despite the disheartening incident, Ronaldo is undeterred and continues to excel at Al Nassr. 

The enigmatic forward is currently the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League and has also created a new record with Al Nassr. Consequently, the team is also playing well, winning five games in a row.

The sensational Ronaldo has his shooting boots on again, scoring goals for fun since he joined the Riyadh outfit. He has scored nine goals in eight matches this term and even provided five assists to his teammates. Even at 38, the Portuguese goal-scoring machine doesn’t seem to slow down. The average goal-scoring rate of the Portuguese in the Saudi League is one goal per 86 minutes on the field. The ratio to goals is staggering, as he always comes up with the goods. It helped him to create his latest record with the Saudi club. 

The legendary superstar surpassed the Moroccan player, Abderrazak Hamdallah, who held the record previously. He scored one goal in every 87 minutes before this. As a result of Ronaldo’s goal-scoring antics, he became the player with the best goals per-minute average in the Saudi Championship. It is yet another cherry on the cake for CR7, who continues to take plaudits for his performances.

Ever since he arrived at Al Nassr, goal scoring has not been an issue. He scored 23 goals in 22 games and won the Arab Champion Clubs’ Cup with the team. Yet, time stood still when he lost his aunt before the Ohod game. 

A tragic loss for the Ronaldos

Ronaldo did not feature in the game even though his team won 5-1. Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores, dedicated an Instagram tribute to her sister. She stated, “Today, the sky gained another star. Rest in peace, my sister.” As there is limited public information about her, the cause of death is unknown. 

It became a disappointing few weeks for Ronaldo and his family. Hopefully, time can heal their state of mind.
