FC Barcelona is set to face an important challenge in the transfer market. Their young target, Claudio Echeverri, is rated highly by fans across the world and could prove an important signing for any team he lands in. FC Barcelona could consider themselves fortunate, as the player has the desire to join the club. But the advantage can soon be gone, as their delay in arranging funds could send the player off to Manchester City or Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano. Romano stated that the player’s current club, River Plate, is expecting a release clause of $27.2 million minimum or could lead up to $32.7 million approximately, with add-ons to let him go.
The player is bound by River Plate with a contract until 2024. But FC Barcelona’s financial turmoil is the problem, as they want to pay the release fee in installments. River Plate, on the other hand, does not seem satisfied with the plan. Earlier reports even suggested that the Argentine club wanted to extend his contract for two more years and not let him go.

Xavi Hernandez’s team has edged out clubs like Real Madrid and PSG, who were also interested in the youngster. But being a Lionel Messi fan since childhood, Echeverri dreamed of playing for the Catalan club.
