This Premier League season opened us to the reality that Casemiro is past his physical prime. The midfielder looks a shadow of himself and his defensive lapses proved for Manchester United. His form was such that Pundit Jamie Carragher said, “If I was his agent I’d be on the phone to the MLS or Saudi.” Now, Carragher’s claims might come true as Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr has renewed their previous interest in the Brazilian midfielder.

As per the Telegraph, the story is that Saudi clubs are interested in signing Casemiro. Manchester United is open to the idea of selling their star midfielder and Casemiro’s agent already had talks with clubs. Previously, Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahly were the teams interested in the defensive midfielder. Among these, Casemiro’s preference is reportedly Al Nassr. In fact, a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo makes the most sense for Casemiro.

Back in January, the Knights of Najd wanted to bring the Brazilian on board. To do so, they loaned their natural defensive midfielder, Seko Fofana, to Al Ittihad. Hence, Casemiro will perfectly fit in the starting XI. But signing the Manchester United star won’t be easy for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. French giants PSG had previously made their interest in the 32-year-old known and are expected to do so again. A move to Ligue 1 would allow the midfielder to prolong his stay at the highest level.

However, there is a major reason why Casemiro could prefer Al Nassr over PSG. The presence of former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo & Alex Telles. Casemiro shares quite a bond with CR7 and the duo’s success at Real Madrid needs no mention. Besides, Ronaldo’s work at Al Nassr was subject to lavish praise by the 32-year-old.

And Casemiro seems to be keeping a tab on his former teammate’s achievements. The Brazilian said, “In football, he scores 50 goals at the age of 39. What would you say about such a player?!!”

The Manchester United star also named Cristiano Ronaldo as one of soccer’s greatest-ever players. He explained, “He gave me loads of titles and goals. So, it’s a pleasure to talk about Cris. In my generation, he was top three in the world. Without a doubt, he’s one of football’s all-time best.” Between them, the former Real Madrid duo has achieved 4 Champions League titles and 2 La Liga titles.
