“It’s a big honor for me,” were the first words of Keryakoplis, a North Wales native after signing for the Reds. The team’s boss Steve Dale played a significant role in landing the ex-Liverpool star. “I’ve been playing football my whole life, and this is my hometown. So, when Steve approached me, it was something I was interested in,” the former Welsh international said.

The 29-year-old claims it was an easy decision once Dale approached her. “It was a very decision for me. With the way Wrexham AFC is going at the moment, it’s a massive honor to represent the club and I can’t wait to get started,” Keryakoplis added. The former WSL star does have her roots with the Red Dragons. Her great-grandad and former England international, Tommy Gardner, played for Wrexham AFC between 1945 to 1947.
Keryakoplis, who represented Wales in 20 games and scored three goals, plays as a forward. She boasts experience playing in WSL with Liverpool and Birmingham City. The Tranmere Rovers Academy graduate also represented Stoke City and Derby County before moving to Wrexham. The Welsh forward signed a semi-professional contract ahead of the club’s first season in Genero Adran Premier, which is subject to international clearance.
