Hence, in an attempt to bolster the fanbase, while focusing on the aim to symbolize the USWNT, an American toy firm released several collectibles in honor of the team. However, it seems one person has questioned a company regarding the release of toys.

Alexis Ohanian questions Funko for NWSL toys

Funko is an American company that manufactures officially licensed and limited-edition pop culture collectibles. The company was founded in 1998, and since then it has been making limited-edition merchandise and products.

Their most famous products are licensed vinyl figurines and bobbleheads. Besides this, the company also makes action figures, fashion merch, accessories, and games. Recently, while following their usual drill, the company released figurines of some USWNT superstars.

However, that is being cross-questioned by the husband of Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian. The internet personality recently came across the figurines and put up the question for the firm on his Twitter account. He wrote, “Hey @OriginalFunko love @USWNT but when @NWSL?”

Although Ohanian is quite fond of the USWNT collectibles, he has asked the company to release some collectibles related to the NWSL league. Currently, they have released figurines under the names of stars including, Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.

It would be interesting to see if the company considers his request, as it will surely be a hit in the market. But it seems the USWNT are one step ahead to bolster their spectatorship even more.

USWNT receives a huge boost in World Cup broadcasting

The craze for the World Cup continues to grow as the national side has been working to access the potential viewership market. Hence, amid its popularity, the USWNT has struck a deal with TNT and Telemundo for the multilingual streaming of its matches.

The new deal has banished their current deals with ESPN and FOX. Moreover, the Telemundo deal has already been tested as they witnessed a 50% rise in Spanish-speaking soccer fans. The deals are expected to run until 2026.

This will help them attract a foreign fan base, thus helping them bolster their spectatorship. In fact, they’ll be looking to establish their name even more ahead of the 2023 World Cup.
