Aside from making his name in the soccer world, Gerard Pique is known as an astute businessman. After enjoying a successful spell in his soccer career, he shifted his focus entirely towards becoming a magnate.

In fact, the player successfully managed to do so and had already started doing it while he was still playing. It all began with him starting his own sports management and media company. Today that company is known as Kosmos Holding, and its value has touched millions.

The player took baby steps and soon became the owner of a soccer club, FC Andorra. In fact, it was just after his retirement that the player even started his own league, known as the Kings League.

With the help of such inventive ideas, the player has given a significant boost to his net worth. And that’s what his friends also think about the former defender. Regarding the same, Nicolas Julia, the founder of the digital sports platform Sorare, spoke to The New York Times.

Gerard Pique wanted to build something

The indigenous mind of Pique has been running since his playing days. “One of the first things he said to me was that he had finished training by 12,” said Nicolas Julia.

“Some of his teammates liked to play video games. Some were happy hanging out with their families. He loved to go to the office and build something,” he said. The player was driven to work, and those who have worked with him had their say. Julia also insisted he liked to invest his capital in the areas he understood.

“I think he saw a lot of his teammates retire and have nothing to do,” said Javier Alonso, a former colleague of Pique. “They were only 35 but had no real life except eating in nice restaurants and playing padel. He did not want that.” Alonso also said that the player is far more flexible despite his popularity. “He is happy to listen to experts,” he added while highlighting the humble side of Pique.
