Wrexham Association Football Club (Wrexham AFC) has been stirring headlines since its 2020 takeover by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. From fan base growth to financial and performance growth on the pitch, Wrexham has organized itself into a constant upward climb in terms of success.
As a part of its high-flying current year, which included a promotion to the fourth tier of the English Football League, Wrexham has also organized the addition of a new sponsor to the home stadium.

Following its promotion run, the club has found a new official sponsor for their Racecourse Ground stadium. The new sponsor is America’s fastest-growing coffee company, STōK Cold Bre. The sponsorship will officially begin on July 1st. This is a momentous occasion for the historic stadium, as it marks the first time it has ever found an official sponsor.
To celebrate the incoming partnership, Ryan Reynolds took to his Twitter to announce the good news in a hilarious video. Joined by his co-owner Rob McElhenney, the two performed a skit in which they replaced the team’s traditional afternoon tea with STōK Cold Brew coffee and then the English players smashed the cups, creating a caricature of an English stereotype of preferring tea over coffee.

Reynolds accompanied the comedic clip with a caption reading, “Brand new sponsor, same team culture. Welcome @Stokcoldbrew, @Wrexham_AFC’s newest sponsor of the world’s oldest international football stadium”. It is no surprise that the announcement of the partnership was made in a hilarious video. As Ryan Reynolds is an actor, that is accustomed to creating his own hilarity in any possible way.
Also, STōK is celebrating and honoring the team’s legacy by preserving the historic ‘Cae Ras’ or ‘Racecourse’ name. The new official name of the stadium will be STōK Cae Ras | STōK Racecourse. This serves as a tribute to the history and heritage of this stadium.
