The debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is gathering pace even in 2023. It’s one of those arguments which never dies down. Even though they left Europe for the USA and Saudi Arabia, respectively, fans continue to engage in the debate on who’s better. But now, there is a fresh twist to the tale. Two-time boxing champion Anthony Joshua picked a creative way to settle the argument once and for all. 

As they approach the end of their soccer careers, Joshua has proposed an engaging idea. A fantasy boxing match! One that could end the rivalry that dominated the sporting world for ages. With Joshua’s suggestion, the boxer picked Ronaldo to walk out as the champion in the fantasy bout.

During a recent interview, the interviewer inquired about his desired participants in a hypothetical fantasy fight. With the option to choose from various fields, Joshua selected a battle between the two soccer stars.

He stated, “Ronaldo vs. Messi” when asked about the fantasy boxing match. After that, the interviewer curiously asked the winner, and he uttered, “Ronaldo” and further mentioned, “I love Messi or Ronaldo,” showing his appreciation for the two players. 

When discussing the fantasy fight, “Messi’s got that, you know, vision, though, I can imagine him bobbing and weaving angles, but yeah, it’d be tough. They’re both as good as each other.” By preparing a blueprint for Messi, bobbing and weaving would suit him as an able boxer.

The term bobbing and weaving means a defensive technique that moves the head both beneath and laterally of an incoming punch. Even the legendary Muhammad Ali showcased those traits to the maximum.
