Shakira has been the talk of the town for quite a few months. Amid their eventful break-up and public feud saga, the Colombian singer broke world records with her diss tracks against her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique. Moreover, everyone knows about the sketchy relationship the Latin American singer shared with her mother-in-law.

During the twelve-year relationship, Pique’s mother never accepted Shakira as her daughter-in-law due to various differences. As per recent reports, the singer and Pique’s mother had numerous fights with each other before the actual breakup.

Apart from that, Montserrat Bernabeu had reportedly played a huge role to help Pique have his ‘secret’ meetings with Clara Chia Marti.

Since the infamous breakup, there have been too many contrasting reports on social media. While some suggest that Montserrat was highly supportive of the relationship, others claim that she was completely against it since Day 1. Even this report seems like it is following a similar trend to the latter half of the previous statement.

According to Semana, Pique’s mother once had a very heated argument in front of Milan and Sasha. However, things got worse after Montserrat hit her daughter-in-law in the face in front of her own children. But this wasn’t the only time.

According to the Spanish news outlet, El Popular, while Montserrat never liked Shakira, she reportedly supported Pique to start a new relationship with Clara Chia Marti. While he was still dating Shakira, the soccer veteran used to meet his secret girlfriend at his parents’ house.

Spanish journalist Laura Fa once said, “It’s all because when the relationship between Piqué and Clara Chía began, they took refuge in a house that Piqué’s parents have in Cabrils (Spain). While Shakira cried on her mother-in-law’s shoulder, she was complicit in hiding this new relationship. That has sat very badly on Shakira”, as transcribed by El Popular.

Unfortunately, the soccer legend’s mother and the 46-year-old could not contain their fights within the four walls of their home. In one instance, the Waka–Waka singer and her mother-in-law burst out into an argument in a public space. A fan seemingly recorded this video from a distance.

Montserrat appears to be having a heated debate with the singer. At one point, Montserrat orders Shakira to keep quiet, but she doesn’t. She then tries to physically shut the singer’s mouth with her hand.

Amidst all the drama, the soccer veteran is just standing there and pretending to look away. The fans were thoroughly shocked by such kind of misbehavior by the celebrity family in a public space. Along with their already broken relationship, the diss tracks have caused those cracks to further widen. Earlier this year, Montserrat admitted that her own grandkids stopped calling her grandma after the diss track.
