BKFC has agreed on a deal to bring 33% stakes in the French Ligue1 club FC Lorient. They now have NHL franchise Vegas Golden Knights, Premier League club AFC Bournemouth and FC Lorient under their belt.
BKFC is targeting a multi-club model wherein they can transfer soccer talents across the club network, create a talent pool, accelerate player development, and achieve brilliant success financially and on the field. BKFC also have a global face in Michael B. Jordan, who will be part of the international marketing of the clubs owned by them.

Speaking on the investment in FC Lorient, Foley said, “We are excited to announce a strategic partnership and investment in FC Lorient today. Loic Fery has successfully built a best-in-class football club and will be a great partner as we build BKFC into a leading multi-club football operator. I look forward to partnering with Loic and his team to accelerate the success of FC Lorient and BKFC.”
Loic Fery took over Lorient in 2009 and is the youngest owner and President in the Ligue 1. Fery thinks Foley’s passion and dedication to the growth of soccer and the multi-club model were the reasons behind selling minority stakes. Lorient, who boasts the fourth youngest squad, will benefit from this model, and the future looks good.

Lorient currently is two points off the European place in the league table and 15 points adrift of the top. It will be interesting to see how the partnership with the BKFC will help the club in the future, if not immediately.
Lorient is looking good this season after finishing 16th last season. They were just 4 points away from relegation last season. The same was the case in the 2020-21 season, as they narrowly avoided relegation then.
