Already, the league leaders were reeling from Neymar‘s absence. Now their goalkeeper, Mohammed Al Owais has become the latest addition to the injury list. The backup goalkeeper has traveled to France for a surgical procedure following a back injury sustained while on duty with the national team.

Jorge Jesus steers speculation away regarding an Al Hilal downfall

Al Hilal appears to be facing relentless challenges, with a promising season turning sour due to a series of significant injury setbacks. However, Jorge Jesus has come to ease the tension of all Al Hilal fans as he assured to protect the interests of the club. In an interview, he said, “For me, Al Hilal takes precedence over anyone’s interests. It is bigger than Jesus himself and bigger than any player. I am here to protect Al Hilal’s interests as long as I am the team’s coach.” Certainly, his promise will be a huge relief to fans around the world. 

Notably, Al Zaeem is sitting at the top with a 13-point gap against rival Al Nassr. Yesterday, they thrashed Abha with an emphatic 7-0 scoreline. Jesus and Co. reportedly sought for not a like-for-like Neymar replacement

In a surprising revelation, Al Hilal is set to recruit a left-back instead of an attacking player to fill the void left by the injured Brazilian icon. Reports suggest that Jorge Jesus’ side is contemplating delisting the sidelined Neymar for the remainder of the season. This will help them add another foreign player without disobeying Saudi’s rule of eight international players. 

Left-back isn’t the only option, as even before thinking about a shot-stopper to replace Al Owais, Al Hilal is also looking to sign Manchester United center-back Raphael Varane. Perhaps this decision was made after witnessing players like Mitrovic and Malcolm handling the attack quite well.
