“Beyoncé Tickets Dropping the Same Week?” – NWSL Teases Fans With a Schedule Release Date Amid Complaints, Sending Soccer World Into a Tailspin

Finally, NWSL has dropped a date when this season’s schedule will release. It will issue the schedule on Wednesday. It has drawn reactions from the fans who aren’t happy about the delay again made this year. NWSL commissioner said they will release the schedule earlier than last year. However, the fans are furious that it comes just a day earlier than that last year’s schedule. 

NWSL franchises have already started their preparations for the new season. Many top players and fans raised concerns over the delay in the schedule. USWNT stars Megan Rapinoe, and Alex Morgan were the soccer stars raising their voice over delays.

The 2023 NWSL season will commence on the 25th of March, compared to the 29th of April last year. It will be a World Cup year meaning there are certain adjustments to the schedule, which dropped 45 days earlier this season compared to 44 days last year. 

NWSL fans react to the schedule drop date 

NWSL’s Twitter handle posted a message with the date when this season’s schedule will drop. NY/NJ Gotham FC responded by tweeting, “NWSL schedule and Beyoncé tickets dropping the same week? Blessed.” The wait for the schedule has been long, with one fan saying will believe only when he sees it. Some fans are happy as they will know how they can plan to watch games. 

However, not all fans were happy with the announcement of NWSL. As it is a World Cup year, many believed the league should have come up with the schedule earlier. It should have been released a month ago, in the opinion of many. 

One fan pointed out that the NWSL commissioner said it will come earlier than last year but barely released it a day before last year’s schedule was dropped. Fans feel the league should do better next year as it is a disservice to the fans and the clubs. 

Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan raised concerns over the delay 

Earlier, USWNT stars Rapinoe and Morgan were vocal against NWSL, calling them out for delay in releasing the full season schedule. Rapinoe posted a message, “Missing NWSL Schedule. Please call the players if found,” on her Instagram story. 

Alex Morgan soon followed the suit. While talking to CBS, Morgan said, jokingly, “I know the schedule hasn’t come out yet, which everyone’s like wondering where the heck the schedule is. So am I.”

Now that the NWSL schedule is set to drop on Wednesday, it will be interesting to see how they have planned for the games during the World Cup month. The Women’s World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand later this year from July 20 to August 20.
