The Manchester City star had a rough injury in 2016 that saw him miss out on making it into Portugal’s squad for the Euros. During an exclusive interview with media outlet A Bola, Bernardo was asked about his thoughts on failing to make the cup-winning side.

Silva replied, “Yes, I’ve never won a trophy like a European or a World Cup. It’s a big goal I have in my career: to win a European Championship or a World Cup with our national team.”

However, when asked to comment on his feelings, the player clarified, “Ah, my feeling. My feeling is the same, because I know that, at the end of the day, what counts in football is winning. I always play to win, but obviously, I don’t feel complete at national team level.”
