In the process of rebuilding the team, Wrexham has added several talents to their side in order to contest for the silverware. Some had to be canned while others were brought to bolster their ranks. And in that procedure, the club tried to sign a former Premier League superstar.
In an exclusive interview with LiveScore, former Manchester United goalkeeper, Ben Foster, has revealed about the offer he received to join the Red Dragons, back in the summer of 2022. “Wrexham were one of the clubs I got an offer from earlier in the season. However, the player turned down the offer and preferred hanging up his boots. The player also had huge praise for Ryan Reynolds’s side, who narrowly missed out on promotion after the arrival of new owners. “The thing with Wrexham is it’s such a football community and the people really care about that club,” he said.
The player revealed he was even offered a way back to the Premier League by this season’s FA Cup finalists, Newcastle United. The team had lost both of their main stoppers, Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka, but it was a road he decided not to go with.

Foster hung his boots on September 15, 2022 and took a job as a goalkeeping coach for Soccer Aid. The yearly conducted charity match will be played at Old Trafford this year on 11 June.
