One such team is David Beckham’s Inter Miami. The MLS side has been a long-term suitor of the Argentine superstar and is keen to bring him to America. A return to Barcelona is also on the cards. Moreover, he also got a nine-figure offer from a Saudi Arabian team, but the player is being urged to play in MLS. Messi recently got another petty request from a former teammate of Beckham, Carlos Ruiz.

Lionel Messi urged to follow the footsteps of David Beckham

Some fans want Messi to join the Florida-based club, with Ruiz being one of them. The former player opened up about La Pulga’s future. “I saw first hand the impact of Beckham when he came. After that of Andrea Pirlo, that of David Villa. Many famous players have passed through here and have made MLS marketing grow,” said Carlos while speaking to EFE.

“Bringing in a player like Messi is ambitious, also because of what it gives him as an image. I don’t see Messi bouncing around in different leagues around the world. I think the best thing for him is to bring his family to Miami, live in the United States, and be part of the history of this league,” added Ruiz.

Ruiz is keen to see Messi at his former teammates’ club, as he believes it would be an ideal move for the striker. Earlier, the MLS commissioner, Don Garber, also expressed his wish to be creative in landing the 35-year-old in MLS. However, nothing has been said by Messi regarding his future, but there are strong rumors of him going back to Barcelona for the last dance.

Last dance with Barcelona?

While the rumors surrounding Messi continue to grow, the player is touted to go back to where it all began for him. The Argentinian skipper is being tipped to join Barcelona after an emotional break-up from the club. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been urged to go for a last dance, by his former teammate, Xavi.
