Battling Cancer at a Young Age, Argentine Fan Gets Dreams Fulfilled by Lionel Messi’s Teammate With a Wholesome Gesture

An act of kindness goes a long way in lifting the needy. We have seen many celebrities and people in the sporting world, go out of their way and surprise fans making their day. One such recent incident brightened people’s day when Lionel Messi’s teammate from Argentina made a decision to help out a young fan battling cancer. The Argentina squad is at home for the first of the World Cup qualifiers.

Messi himself is known for getting involved in a lot of goodwill projects. He was also an ambassador for UNICEF and raised funds for children around the world. He was also involved in contributing a lot to improving health by providing funds through the Messi Foundation. In this case, it wasn’t Messi but his teammate and admirer who took the role model’s footsteps.

Young fan’s morale boosted by World Champion

A young boy having cancer approached the Argentinian World Cup winner, Enzo Fernandez. Jeremias is a River Plate fan who has been in constant touch with Enzo and received a pleasant surprise from him. When Enzo arrived in Argentina, he went and met Jer, gave him a hug, and took a photo together with him.

Prior to that Enzo also arranged for a chair that the boy needed and promised him he would meet him when he would be in the country.

Enzo was the same boy who wrote the emotional note to Messi on Facebook after Messi announced his retirement. Enzo, in his brief span, has provided unique moments for fans.

The young Jeremias is a huge fan of Enzo Fernandez and meeting his role model made him cry. Cancer can be very cruel to handle and such gestures have the power even to melt the stars. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Enzo has made such a heartwarming gesture for fans.

Other than this, Enzo was also seen caring for fans and giving his T-shirts to children earlier this year. Recently, Enzo also met with the 2-year-old soccer talent in the US and had a pleasant time with him.

The next task is the World Cup Qualifiers for Enzo. After fulfilling millions of dreams at the 2022 World Cup, Argentina will resume its next quest. These off-field moments can definitely translate into on-field ones when the group reunites at home. Messi and his team take on Ecuador tonight at Buenos Aeries.
