The USA vs. Germany match was a spectacle to behold and could easily be labeled as the pinnacle of this year’s tournament. With star players such as Anthony Edwards and Austin Reaves in their ranks, it was expected that Team USA would easily sweep the FIBA World Cup. However, it was Dennis Schroder and Germany who came out on top, beating Team USA by a narrow margin of 113-111.

This victory not only left the basketball world in awe but also caught the attention of German soccer star Toni Kroos. Taking to Twitter, Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate expressed his astonishment with a simple, yet impactful, “Wooooooow”.

As a World Cup champion himself, having clinched the title in 2014, Kroos understands the euphoria that comes with witnessing one’s country succeed on the international stage. Seeing his nation’s basketball team take one step closer to ultimate glory has undoubtedly left him feeling thrilled. Team USA may have fallen short of their aspirations but for the American coach, this is a sign of the evolving nature of basketball.

This statement by Kerr highlights the unpredictable nature of sports on a global scale. Now, all eyes are eagerly anticipating the finals between Germany and Serbia to witness which European nation will emerge victorious and claim the prestigious trophy.
