Having memories with the star is a great feeling in itself. Nonetheless, the son of a soccer icon had an opportunity to acquire Messi’s prized vintage collectibles but failed to seize the moment.
Lionel Messi is known to be kind to people who want to exchange jerseys with him. The Inter Miami player rarely rejects other players’ requests, except for a few scenarios. However, one young talent gave an account of Messi’s generosity, which he encountered but did not sustain.

The highly talented France team finally got recognition in 1998 when Zinedine Zidane and his team won the World Cup. But the star of the semifinal was one of the current French team players, Marcus Thuram’s father, Lilian Thuram. The youngster was growing up in his father’s footsteps while finally lacing his soccer boot. It led him to acquire Lionel Messi’s glittering Barcelona boots. However, the French forward regrets giving it off to a friend. According to a report, Marcus Thuram revealed, “The next day I went to football and gave Messi’s shoes to a friend without thinking much about it.”
The star claimed to have received the boots when Messi offered him to take his shoes home. The Argentine captain gave him the shoes when Marcus, as a kid, wanted to get on the field with his father and play. Lilian Thuram also played for FC Barcelona at the end of his career.
The Frenchman was one of the main reasons France reached the 1998 finals after he scored two goals against Croatia in the semifinals. Thuram was a powerful defender but rose to the occasion on the biggest stage to win the trophy. His son, on the other side, could have been a similar hero after he assisted Kylian Mbappe in the last World Cup.

Marcus started a new journey in 2023
The 26-year-old has recently moved to Inter Milan for a 5-year contract worth $7.1 million. The player’s World Cup might have ended unexpectedly, but the rising talent moved to a club he holds a special place in his heart. He was supposed to join in 2021, but the deal did not happen because of his injury.
The new Inter Milan number nine also does not consider himself a conventional forward. He likes to be dynamic and move around to get involved in the play. Moreover, Inter will play against Juventus on November 26. The Turin team is just below Inter on the table with a difference of two points.
