It’s safe to say Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing has changed the trajectory of the Saudi Pro League. His transfer improved the visibility of the league and heavyweights like Neymar and Benzema soon followed. The trend looks set to continue this year as superstars like Kevin De Bruyne and Casemiro are linked with potential moves. However, it seems another world-renowned midfielder might also be keen on a switch to Saudi Arabia. As per Barcelona icon Andres Iniesta, the Saudi Pro League is ‘very strong.’

The Spanish midfielder recently shared his thoughts on the league. Iniesta said, “Well, I think that, more and more, the Saudi Pro League is getting more known, and becoming a very strong league.” He demonstrated his knowledge of Saudi soccer by name-dropping 3 SPL teams. Iniesta added, “The most-known teams there are Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli. Cristian Tello is playing in Al-Fateh, right?” Notably, Iniesta shared the pitch with Cristian Tello at Barcelona between 2011 and 2017.

It is interesting that Iniesta did not mention Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad from the well-known teams. The Spaniard knows Cristiano Ronaldo’s former teammate well during their heated El Clasico encounters. Moreover, Al Ittihad were the league champions last season. Hence, it seems Iniesta is only keeping tabs on Al Nassr, Al Hilal, and Al Ahly.

The Spanish icon currently plays for the UAE side Emirates Club. At 40, he is in the final phase of his career. Hence, if Iniesta had to have a spectacular union with Cristiano Ronaldo, a transfer must happen imminently. It’s not yet known if the former Guardiola protege is open to another career switch. Speaking of Guardiola, a Manchester City star is attracting big interest from Al Nassr. Is a move on the cards? Let’s find out below.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr is interested in adding Ederson to the squad

Brazilian shot-stopper Ederson has been an integral part of Manchester City’s recent success. However, his contract ends in June 2025 and there is a possibility that the star would be open to a new challenge. After all, he has won everything there is to win with the Premier League sides. As per reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and Al Ittihad are keen on adding the Brazilian to their ranks. It is believed that a transfer fee of $54 million could seal the deal.

For Al Nassr, getting a new goalkeeper is a priority. Although David Ospina has been impressive for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co, the Colombian will be leaving the club soon. As it stands, a contract renewal looks unlikely. Hence, Ederson would be the ideal replacement for Ospina. But, a transfer is far from close, as the Brazilian has yet to make the final call on his next move.
