Is Ancelotti's omission of Bellingham a strategic move or a glaring oversight?

The Ballon d’Or 2024 has just named Rodri as this year’s winner. Leaving the players from Madrid with just a few points. Real Madrid’s coach, Carlos Ancelotti, was the one to win the Johan Cruyff Trophy for coaching. Ancelotti’s omission of Jude Bellingham when praising players like Vinicius and Carvajal has left many confused. The fact that Ancelotti only mentioned Vinicius and Carvajal as those who really made an effort, but did not say the same for Jude Bellingham, has many left perplexed about whether their midfield superstar has been sufficiently praised.

Ancelotti thanked his team after he was awarded the Johan Cruyff Trophy, considered one of the most prestigious awards in world football. The veteran coach thanked some of the key people who made him successful: “I want to thank my family, my president, my club, my players, and above all Vini and Carvajal.”

Jude Bellingham is leaving his mark on La Liga and establishing himself as one of Europe’s hottest talents. Since joining Madrid, he has consistently turned heads with his attacking prowess and composure, adapting seamlessly into Ancelotti’s squad. His match-winning performances have already won him the hearts of fans who had high hopes that Ancelotti’s words might reflect their growing belief in Jude Bellingham’s Ballon d’Or potential. But, much to their surprise, Ancelotti didn’t mention the young Englishman during his acceptance speech.

Ancelotti’s shoutout to Vinicius and Carvajal makes sense. The Brazilian boy is Madrid’s favorite these days. He stood out for his dribbling and speed, in addition to scoring important goals in decisive matches. It is clear that he is key in the big games and in Madrid’s attack. Carvajal, on the other hand, has Madrid’s spirit. He gives his all on the pitch. Both reflect Madrid’s values and legacy. Thus, Ancelotti’s recognition of their contributions makes perfect sense.
