Inter Miami is enjoying a season turnaround thanks to the impact of their three world-class signings. The Herons squad is starting to fall into shape, especially with the recent addition of Spanish left-back, Jordi Alba, to the team. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi, Inter Miami’s new number 10, seems to be having better days in the US, a piece of good news for both the fans and the Miami club.

Jordi Alba departed Barcelona after 11 years to join Inter Miami FC. He made 459 appearances over 11 seasons, winning numerous trophies for the Catalan club. The 34-year-old reunited with his former Catalan teammates in Miami for a new challenge in MLS. Following his debut against Orlando City SC, Alba claimed that La Pulga is happier in the States when compared to his time in Paris.

The Argentine played 75 games and scored 32 goals for PSG with a failed stint for the Champions League in both the season. Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami as a free agent after his contract expired with the French club. Additionally, Jordi Alba emphasized that Messi was content in South Florida and was living up to the American dream after he signed for Miami. The Spanish left-back said, “He feels supported, loved, and that’s the most important thing. At PSG, he didn’t have a good time, but he recovered his joy. I repeat it’s a challenge that personally excites him a lot and I see him very happy”.

Lionel Messi departed European soccer after 22 years, leaving behind a rich legacy of 35 trophies. The former PSG forward had a convincing start in America with club officials, including co-owner David Beckham, going out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Messi’s change in demeanor and sustained quality suggests that he has undergone a positive mental shift. Meanwhile, La Pulga helped Inter Miami secure a spot in the knockout stages after a dominant performance in the Leagues Cup.

The 7x Ballon D’or had already brought global attention to South Florida with five goals in three consecutive wins for Inter Miami. Lionel Messi’s victorious performance against Orlando City SC helped Inter Miami advance to the Round of 16 in the cup tie. Messi opened the scoring in the game by smashing a lofted pass from Robert Taylor into the net. The Lions’ only goal in the entire game was scored by Cesar Araujo, 10 minutes after the Herons took the lead.

Jordi Alba, who is worth $16,000,000,  also made his MLS debut in the 63rd minute of the match, reuniting with longtime mates, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi. Despite the yellow card, the world champion scored his second goal in the game with another close strike assisted by Martinez to secure the victory for the Herons.
