Soccer in Saudi Arabia is yet to figure out the combinations and compatibilities. It has already been more than a month or two since Neymar Jr. and a few other top-profile players arrived at Al Hial FC. Even though it is on top of the league table, there is slight restlessness about not matching the expectations yet. Immediately after a month, its coach’s position looks uncertain, with the club looking for strategies in just a couple of months.

Al Hilal was the best team in Saudi even before the mass recruitment of new players began. However, the club looks to be getting a little insecure. Neymar’s team is preparing to bring more strength into the club’s sporting operations with an Italian legend.

There is no way Al Hilal could feel sad about their performances yet. The team went on to beat Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad without Neymar. But now, the club is looking to be careful about any kind of future disappointments. There is a talk that the 18-time Saudi league champions are looking to sign Paolo Maldini for the role of their Sporting Director.

The Italian legend was a previous director at AC Milan from 2019 until June this year. AC Milan chose to part ways with him after being taken up by new owners RedBird Capital. The former AC Milan captain and his family were long-time loyalists of the club, and he himself played his entire career there. Maldini was instrumental in Rossoneri’s resurgence in the last few years.

He helped the team sign some significant players, including Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud. But now, Al Hilal is looking to hire his services.

It hasn’t been long since Al Hilal brought its former manager, Jorge Jesus back to the club. After his successful spell at Fenerbahce, he was offered this project in a totally different environment than before. With other teams getting competitive, Al Hilal felt the need for his experience. However, things haven’t looked smooth after the recent draw against Navbahor in the AFC Champions League tie. The coach is now under immediate scrutiny.

Talks have arrived that Neymar is not happy with the manager and also argued with him after the match against Navbahor. Neymar had a rather noxious game, also registering a yellow for pushing the rival player. Things did not follow well, leading to a feud inside the locker room. Neymar seemed to have let the management know his opinion and preferred the Portuguese coach to be out.

Jorge Jesus is already under pressure after a few average performances from the team recently. He may have a renewed squad in the Saudi capital, but Jesus seems to be put under a rush from the fans and management. The internal problem with Neymar would be the last thing Jesus would like to have. With the chances of Maldini’s arrival, Al Hilal would look to sort all the issues going into a crucial phase.
