Apart From Open-Top Bus Parade, Wrexham Superstar Paul Mullin Reveals People “Hanging off Lampshades” in Wild Celebration Party

The celebrations are on for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s 2 million USD team. Wrexham AFC showed how the right owner can change the club’s destiny, in just the concluded season. With a record-breaking 111 points, they got the automatic promotions. The team will now celebrate and then take a rest along with a few friendlies against Premier League clubs before embarking on a league soccer journey.

Paul Mullin, the star striker, played an important role in taking the Welsh club to this level. He, along with names like Ollie Palmer and Ben Foster, played a crucial role in making sure that the promotion doesn’t depend on the playoffs like last year.

The celebrations are still going on as yesterday; the team took out a victory parade across the town. Attended by the whole team, coaching staff, and the owners, the team had an open bus in which they navigated the roads jammed with fans and supporters.

Wrexham star disclosed ‘behind the scenes’

The world only saw the parade through a few clips and posts made by the attendees. Wrexham AFC Star Paul Mullin in a recent interview with GQ magazine talked about the extent of their celebration. He also disclosed the unbelievable scarcity of sleep he was having.

Talking to GQ, Mullin revealed, “The bars were too busy so we ended up going back to the stadium as a team. At 6 am I went to the medical room to try and kip on one of the physiotherapy beds. Then at 6:20 am, the physio comes in singing ‘We’ve got Mullin, super Paul Mullin’, wakes me up. Then we’re out again. I was awake for 40 hours. People were hanging off lampshades at one point.”

Among other things, he discussed the club and his team. He also discussed how the team went on a winning spree when Rob promised them a chartered plane until they lose. However, one of the most interesting things he talked about is his comparisons with Premier League goliath Erling Haaland.

Mullin on fans comparing him with Haaland

Maintaining the down-to-earth persona Mullin has, he believes the fans comparing him with Haaland are joking. He said, “Don’t be ridiculous. In terms of the numbers, it’s quite similar this season, but in terms of ability, we’re worlds apart. He’s an absolute machine. I’ve never seen nothing like it. Obviously, anyone comparing us has to be joking!”
