The promotion to EFL League Two has put pressure on Wrexham to bolster the squad. There are no doubts regarding the squad’s ability to perform. But with a step forward into the higher leagues, the quality of players in the competition increases. Thus, signings would be crucial for the soccer club to stay up.

Phil Parkinson, though, remains calm and wants to sign the right players. There are many instances where the team’s chemistry gets disrupted by several signings after moving up to higher leagues. It takes time for them to settle down and play as a team.

Thus, he downplays the “major surgery” required for the squad as they entered the new league. While facing pressure to remain competitive, Parkinson is focused on finding the right players for the squad.

He continued, “Sometimes any new deals can take time and, if need be, we are prepared to wait. We are not in a summer where we need seven or eight players because the squad is strong. Of course, ideally, we would like to improve in one or two areas and we are looking to do that, but my feeling is it might take a bit of time.”
