Geoff Shreeves is a reputed name in the Premier League circle. Shreeves is famous for his touchline interviews before and after the games. Such was his stature that Pep Guardiola declined every contractual interview after lifting the Premier League trophy, apart from a short talk. The reporter developed a great rapport over time with veteran managers like Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sky Sports recently asked Shreeves to continue with a pay cut. He declined the offer and left the media house. Shreeves isn’t the only big name to leave Sky Sports. Graeme Souness recently left his role as a pundit. A lead commentator, Martin Tyler, is also on his way out. Another mainstay, Guy Havord, and Bianca Westwood, could also leave. Sky Sports has asked its reporters to reapply for the jobs amid cost-cutting efforts. It will be intriguing to see how things pan out for both parties.

Meanwhile, Shreeves’ departure is in the wake of another recent exodus from ESPN. The media house recently made some cuts to its workforce, resulting in Jeff Van Gundy losing his job. Gundy had one year left on his contract. In addition, ESPN laid off Jalen Rose, NBA Countdown’s popular host. Furthermore, the media house is discontinuing its popular radio show featuring Jay Williams, Max Kellerman, and Keyshawn Johnson as well.
