Well, officially, that is! The contest saw Al Nassr find the back of the net twice. However, their celebrations did not last long, with the match official ruling out the goal after VAR’s intervention.

It seems the drama did not die even at the halftime whistle, with Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates seen mobbing the match official for ruling out the goal. Moreover, the fans inside the stadium were very displeased at the incidents, with the away fans booing the match official as he walked into the dugout. The officiating could turn out to be costly for Al Nassr as the game hangs at a balance.

Otavio, who scored the goal, could not contain his emotions as well, with the player wailing in frustration after the linesman pulled up the offside flag. Cristiano’s frustrations, however, saw him get booked for protesting against the referee’s decision. The Al Nassr skipper did not seem pleased with the booking, as well as, fans saw him shouting at the referee while walking to the dugout.

Al Nassr will look to get past the happening and get their focus back on winning the contest. With the game hanging in the balance, both teams would be eager to break the deadlock and find the opening goal in the contest.

Things turn from bad to worse for Cristiano Ronaldo!

Well, if you think what happened in the first half was awful, you’re in for a rude awakening! The second half saw Al Hilal completely dominate their opponents, bagging two consecutive goals to put pressure on Al Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo tried to get his team back into the game but forgot to keep his emotions in check. The Al Nassr skipper lost his composure in the 85th minute of the contest as he elbowed Renan Lodi with the two contesting for a dead ball on the sidelines.

Well, this did not sit down with the match official, who did not shy away from quickly pulling out the red card from his pocket. The suspension saw Cristiano being ejected off the field, with his side suffering a 2-1 defeat. According to reports, the suspension might not be the only trouble for the Portuguese star, with the Saudi Arabian management issuing an additional one-game ban on the player for his misconduct with the match official.
