Wrexham AFC’s pre-season U.S. tour hasn’t been disappointing so far. The Welsh side may have started off on the wrong foot as they lost 5-0 against Chelsea. But they certainly made no mistakes since then, clinching an emphatic 4-0 win against LA Galaxy II. Today, they again extended their winning streak by defeating Manchester United. While the soccer world continues to react to the result, a renowned star also jumped on the bandwagon.

And that man is none other than the famous celebrity, Russell Crowe. Apparently, seeing the 3-1 result of the most-awaited match enticed the Hollywood actor to share his reaction among the soccer fraternity.

It was yet another important pre-season success for Ryan Reynolds’ side as they thrashed United 3-1. Although the Premier League side didn’t use their key players and give youngsters a chance instead, it is still a decent win for the Welsh side. Seemingly, the whole soccer world has been reacting to the enthralling result.

Surprisingly, it also tempted the New Zealand-born actor, Russell Crowe to share his thoughts on the result. Interestingly, the Gladiator star retweeted Wrexham’s full-time score tweet with just a one-word response. He wrote, “This …” Indeed, it is quite a confusing reaction as it doesn’t exactly tell how he feels.

Yet, it somehow suggests that the actor is rather surprised to see the final scoreboard. As if, he wasn’t expecting the match to end in favor of the Red Dragons. Notably, goals from Elliott Lee, Aaron Hayden, and Sam Dalby helped Wrexham win the case. On the other hand, Marc Jurado’s only goal helped United to deny the Welsh side to keep a clean sheet.

Furthermore, Daniel Gore’s sent-off in just the beginning of the second half made things worse. The Red Dragons also suffered a massive blow, having lost Paul Mullin in the early minutes. Nevertheless, it was quite a dramatic game and surely a weird reaction from Crowe. Additionally, you’ll be surprised to know that the actor has an ancestral link to Reynolds’ club.

Hearing this may drop the jaws of many, but Crowe has an ancestral link with Wrexham. This comes back in 2021 when Ryan Reynolds made an announcement about him and Rob McElhenney taking over the Welsh club. Apparently, the Deadpool star’s tweet caught the interest of Crowe. He went on to share Reynolds’ tweet and revealed his personal connection to the town. He wrote, “My grandfather was born in Wrexham.”

Indeed, it is quite a coincidence to hear that Crowe’s grandfather was born and brought up in Wrexham. It is also quite interesting to see yet another Hollywood connection of the Reds. Certainly, it shows how much he supports Reynolds’ side. When Phil Parkinson’s side clinched the promotion, he even sent a heartwarming message to both the Reynolds and McElhenney.
