Experts are wondering whether Ronaldo has the same game left in him that made him a legend. In the FIFA World Cup 2022, out of 4 appearances, Ronaldo has a single goal in his name, that too on a penalty kick. During their match against Switzerland, Ronaldo didn’t even start for Portugal. He came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute and was seen leaving the pitch while his team was thanking the fans. After that speculation started to arise that something is not right between FPF and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Few are also calling out his egotistical behavior resulting in unnecessary media attention at a time when the Portuguese team is doing so well. However, FPF had made an official statement refuting all the reports of altercations and threats by Ronaldo.

While Manchester United had kept everything boiling over, Portugal Football Federation (FPF) had already released a statement. According to a tweet by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, FPF has stated that Ronaldo had never threatened to leave the team in Qatar. Here is how fans reacted to the tweet:
