Shakira’s name included among the most powerful women

This list from Forbes is a powerful reflection of the increasing contributions of women to leadership roles. While the names are alphabetically ordered and the ranking or order of names is irrelevant to the list, it’s easy to see the presence of some powerhouse women in the country of Colombia.

Francia Márquez, the current vice president of Colombia, is included in this list along with other prominent names. Curiously enough, Shakira has also been featured in the same list as a recognition of the famous singer. Shakra’s ‘TQG’ co-singer Karol G, also made the list.

Forbes Colombia, used the same methodology as Forbes’ parent company in the United States, to come up with the list but with the slight difference of not ranking them. Despite the absence of a ranking system, having Shakira’s name on the list is a huge honor for the Latin singer.

Shakira has been able to push past the drama that has followed her since the breakup. And has continued to prove herself as an influential figure both as an artist and a cultural icon. Although Shakira’s fans will undoubtedly welcome this news, it is not the only big honor Shakira is receiving.
