Many have called him the greatest ever in the game, including the very own FIFA. However, the former Brazil superstar was recently hospitalized due to a ‘general swelling’. Prayers started coming in from around the world for the good health of the star. But according to his daughter, there is ‘no emergency’, which was a huge sigh of relief.

Pele broke and made several world records during his career with Brazil and Santos. IFFHS voted him as the World Player of the Century, while the IOC named him the Athlete of the Century. He still holds several world records. While some are unbreakable, Spanish youngster Pablo Gavi has broken a record.

Spain has been in phenomenal form in the ongoing World Cup. They started their campaign with a massive win over Costa Rica. But apart from the win, Gavi made the headlines by being the youngest Spanish player to play in the World Cup. He has now broken another record, which was held by Pele.

Gavi breaks Pele’s 64-year-old FIFA World Cup record

Spain’s Gavi has now become the youngest player to start a FIFA WC knockout game since 1958. In 1958, Pele started for Brazil, making him the youngest. However, 64 years later, Gavi entered the history books with a new record.

Gavi has been an important player for Spain ever since making his debut last year. He has started in all four games for Luis Enrique’s side in the World Cup. Lucho believes he is an important player for the team and continues to trust the Barcelona youngster.

Spain won two games in the group stage, securing a place in the knockouts of the competition. However, their shocking loss to Japan in the final group stage game meant they will be finishing 2nd in the group. They had to face Morocco in the Round of 16 of the competition.
