Leeds United to increase the price of a season ticket

Leeds United just announced that they are raising the price of season tickets by 10%. This hike has brought fans into turmoil. The changes will take place next season. However, to say fans aren’t happy would be an understatement. Leeds United is being slammed by its fans and Leeds United’s reasoning isn’t working the way they thought it would.

Leeds argued they didn’t take the decision lightly. According to them, this was the only option to cover the extra cost of match-day operations. The org clarified that the fans can claim the raise back if they relegate the team this season. Which makes this situation all the more complicated. The team is struggling and fans can see that but they came out with their own reasoning against this decision.

Leeds United Supporters Trust responded to the decision and said, “This increase is unwelcome at a time when many fans will be experiencing increased financial pressures in other areas of their lives, and unjustified given the club’s increasing revenue streams, coupled with poor results on the pitch. Given the current cost of living crisis and after last year’s season ticket rises, it feels like another bitter pill for the fans to swallow.
