After their win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, thousands of Red Devil fans protested against the ownership, filling the stadium with “we want Glazers out” chants. United supporters campaigned against the Glazers for almost a decade, with the movement gaining momentum in recent years. They demanded a change in ownership due to the club’s poor management and lack of investment in their stadium and training facility.

The family owners announced a strategic review for the Red Devils 9 months ago, but no updates have been provided yet. In the meantime, Sheikh Jassim made a $7.65 million bid in pursuit of Manchester United after five rounds of bidding, while reports claim a deal could soon be finalized, with the takeover slated in October 2023.
The Glazers were, however, planning to hold on to their shares, despite the backlash from fans. As a result, David Beckham had joined fans to express his disapproval of the Glazer family and interest in ownership of his former club.

The Los Blancos icon reckoned the club owners should be passionate and principled enough to make the right decisions for English giants like United. In addition, he expressed his interest in any future role at the club and expressed that he would be honored to be a part of the Red Devils. Even though the future of Manchester United remains uncertain, soccer enthusiasts and legends of the club seem to be on the same page in demand for new ownership as the season commences.
