Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s ownership has been instrumental in leading Wrexham AFC to great success. Their hard work has paid off, as the team became champions of the league after struggling previously. After finally crossing the finish line, they’ll be looking to repeat the feat in the EFL.

Many hands are responsible for their entry into the Football League, with one such key figure being Ben Foster. The keeper came out of retirement and managed to lead the club to the historic title. His contract has currently expired, but the Red Dragons will be looking to hold him for another season. Now, Reynolds may have dropped a huge hint regarding his future.

Foster came to the Racecourse Ground for the final eight games of Wrexham’s season. The latter played a crucial role after his memorable heroics in the stoppage time against Notts County. Obviously, this has enticed everyone to keep him for their upcoming season in League Two. And among those advocating for Foster’s contract extension is Reynolds. In fact, he recently dropped a huge hint on social media.

On Twitter, a netizen urged Foster to extend his contract for an additional year, tagging both the goalkeeper and the official Wrexham account. The tweet garnered a significant number of likes from Wrexham supporters, including Reynolds. Perhaps it also indicates that the Deadpool star has somehow given the green light on the situation.

Although the club did confirm they were officially in talks with Foster to sign the contract extension, nothing has materialized so far. Either way, this does give the fans a ray of hope, as a decision might be made by Foster very soon. They are already in talks to sign a new goalkeeper, but that won’t stop them from discussing the future of the 40-year-old. Moreover, the former Premier League goalkeeper is set to have showdown talks with his coach, Phil Parkinson.

Parkinson said, “I will sit down with Ben in the next day or two and have a really good chat, and see what his thoughts are. We have got some good goalkeepers under contract as well so we will speak with Ben and make a decision which is right for him and right for us going forward.” This makes it quite evident how keen the Red Dragons are to keep the keeper at the club. Of course, the fans would love that too.
