There are a few debates in the Soccer world that will never be settled. The biggest of them all is Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi. Both have been the pinnacle of soccer greatness for over a decade. Almost every record is shared by the two soccer megastars. However, it seems that after a decade of being balanced; the debate has started to skew in one direction.

When Messi won the World Cup, he turned a plethora of Ronaldo fans into his disciples. Even Megan Rapinoe declared the debate to be over at that point. Even though the debate goes on, it is not as close as it was during the prime of their career.

After a dramatic exit from Manchester United, Ronaldo signed a monstrous deal with Al-Nassr. He is breaking league records even though he is hardly there for two months. His antics are attracting players to come and join the Saudi Pro League. Meanwhile, Messi is a part of one Goliath of a soccer team in League 1. PSG is stomping their way ahead after a bit of a hiccup.

Kylian Mbappe switch to Lionel Messi

Recently, FIFA awarded some of the most influential personalities of the sport. As everyone would have easily guessed, Lionel Messi went on to win FIFA Best men’s player. Mbappe took to Instagram to congratulate the winner and his teammate. This gesture would turn out to be the shock of the week for soccer fans. Here is how they reacted.

Fans very well knew the affiliation Mbappe had for Cristiano Ronaldo. He did everything he could to win the FIFA World Cup for his team. Single-handedly brought them back to the finals but, had to watch Lionel Messi lift that prestigious trophy in front of his eyes. This would undoubtedly have some impact on their relationship. But, they appear to be playing more than better together.

The guy who broke the dream of Kylian Mbappe, Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez won the Best Men’s Goalkeeper award. Some other notable winners are World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni for Best Men’s Coach, Argentina’s fans for best fans, and Alexia Putellas for best women’s player.
