Owing to her outstanding reputation and goal-scoring record at the University level, Morgan immediately found a spot in the starting XI. She scored her debut goal during the team’s opening game against Atlanta Beat. Morgan’s team ended up winning the WPS Championship during her first season. She managed to score four goals in fourteen games during the 2011 campaign.

Unfortunately, the WPS suspended operations mainly due to financial constraints in 2012.

A brief stint at Seattle Sounders Women with Megan Rapinoe

The then-clubless Alex Morgan joined Megan Rapinoe, Hope Solo, Stephanie Cox, and Sydney Leroux at Seattle Sounders for the 2012 season. However, the USWNT legend wasn’t available for most of the season due to her national commitments. She was also preparing for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

She ended up playing only three games during the 2012 season. During her short tenure at Seattle Sounders, she managed to record two goals and assists each in 253 minutes.

She returned to Orlando Pride for the remainder of the 2017 season after a successful spell at Olympique Lyonnais. Morgan started twelve out of the thirteen games and scored nine goals while racking up four assists. She was also tied for the fifth most goals in the league for the 2017 season.

The next season wasn’t a very pleasant one. Orlando Pride failed to replicate a similar form from the previous campaign on the pitch. Morgan managed to score five goals in nineteen games throughout the campaign. The Pride finished seventh on the points table.

In 2019, the USWNT star missed most of the campaign due to the FIFA Women’s World Cup. She also suffered a patella stress reaction whilst on international duty. Despite her injury crisis, she failed to score a goal during her five club appearances for the season.

In October 2019, Morgan announced that she was pregnant and went on maternity leave for the next few months.
