Alejandro Garnacho’s exclusion from the national squad was once again evident in their latest FIFA WC Qualifiers. When asked about the surprise exclusion of the teenager, Scaloni attributed it to his dip in form lately. The Argentine manager stated that the winger has not had enough playing time with his club. However, Scaloni acknowledged that consistent exclusion can have on a young player’s morale.

“Ale’s non-call-up is due to a form issue. During the last calls, he did not have minutes and we had to think about the human aspect as well. He’s on our radar and will be part of our plans,” Scaloni stated to reporters. This revelation by Scaloni has left fans and the player himself puzzled and aggrieved.

Garnacho wasn’t included in the Argentine squad for the CONMEBOL qualifying action against Uruguay and Brazil. Though he was selected in Scaloni’s last squad against Paraguay and Peru, he sat on the bench while Argentina celebrated the wins. However, despite being overlooked for the recent FIFA WC Qualifiers, Garnacho has not let his disappointment dampen his spirits, as he continues to perform for his club.
