There seems to be quite a confusion at Al Nassr. Previously, there were reports that the hierarchy at the club had stopped bonuses for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. Yet, now the news indicates that this is not the case. Moreover, it has been claimed that the club officials have been portrayed incorrectly and already have a game plan in place for the payments.

This news surfaced after club CEO Guido Fienga reportedly wanted the player bonuses to be reduced previously. This came after the news that players were seemingly not even paid bonuses for winning the Arabian Club Champions Cup and reaching the AFC Champions League RO16. What could have transpired behind the scenes?

In an Arabian soccer show, analysts gave an insightful view on the controversy surrounding the bonus dispute. As per the insider, the executive director at the club did not stop the bonuses. Yet, then what’s preventing the players from receiving the money? The insider explained that Club Owner Khalid bin Fahd had opened a special account in Al Nassr’s name with the sole purpose of receiving the player bonuses. The bonuses will likely be distributed later on. This would be a big relief for the players, considering how big some of the bonus amounts are!

Al Ittihad star Karim Benzema earns more than $20 million per season. The numbers are similar for other big names as well. This is not even without taking into account performance-based bonuses. Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a faultless Champions League campaign as they topped the group without a single defeat in 6 games. A victory in the CL group stage is worth $45000 while a draw earns $10,000. Hence, the concerns regarding the bonus payments are understandable when the figures involved are this big!

The move by Khalid bin Fahd would also help to keep the relationship between the players and the club hierarchy strong. Especially after the previous reports expressed how unhappy they were with altering the bonus payments.
