The winter transfer window is here, and teams will be eager to make crucial changes to bolster their ranks. However, it seems like Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al Nassr is delighted with where they are at the moment. During his press conference, Al Nassr boss Luis Castro made it clear that it satisfied him with how his team functions at the moment and does not see room for fresh additions. However, despite Castro’s comments, it seems like the side has something different in store.
According to reports, the Saudi Pro League side is still in search of some names that could bolster their squad. The team is currently placed second in the points table behind Al Hilal and needs to do something drastic during the second half of the season to catch up to their arch-rivals.

Al Nassr will have a lot on their plate as the team looks to catch up to Al Hilal in a potential two-horse race for the Saudi Pro League title. However, Al Nassr boss Luis Castro is satisfied with how his players have performed this season and is not looking to sign any new overseas talent. The manager clearly stated he was not looking to add unfamiliar names to his team.

However, based on reports from multiple Saudi Arabian media outlets, Al Nassr is scouting for local defenders who could slot into the left-back position. While the team already has ex-Manchester United star Alex Telles playing in the position, a solid backup will not hurt the team by any means.
The side has had a poor record when it comes to their defense this season. In comparison to table-toppers Al Hilal, who has conceded just nine goals this season, Al Nassr has let in twenty-three goals into the back of their net. Failing to revive their defense could pose a significant challenge for Luis Castro and his men.

Defense continues to be a massive worry for Cristiano Ronaldo’s men
While Cristiano Ronaldo and his side have been scoring goals at a relentless rate, the defense has been a blaring issue for the side. Despite a solid backline, the team has failed to keep their opponents in check on multiple occasions. The side has conceded 23 goals so far this season, the highest amongst the top four teams in the points table.
With SPL sides allowed to use eight overseas players in their playing eleven, Luis Castro has relied on Saudi Arabian stars Sultan Al-Ghannam and Ali Lajami alongside Alex Telles and Aymeric Laporte as a part of his defensive back line. However, an injury to any of these four could put a dent in Castro’s plans. Do you think Castro should dip his shoes in the market?
