After stacking up 5 Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, Casemiro was expected to light up the Premier League. But, he has fallen some distance short of the lofty expectations. The Brazilian midfielder was adjudged to be a contributing factor behind Manchester United’s ‘leaky’ defense. Yesterday’s match against Crystal Palace was the same story and the decorated midfielder was singled out for his defensive lapses. Given the circumstances, it seems like a reasonable possibility if Casemiro decides to leave. Speaking of, the latest reports claim that Al Nassr has stepped up to reunite Casemiro with Cristiano Ronaldo.
As per reports, the Knights of Najd have made an official offer for Casemiro. There were also rumors that the Saudi club wanted the Brazilian back in January. To progress with the deal they even forced out their defensive-minded midfielder, Seko Fofana to make space for the Brazilian. However, the move didn’t come to fruition and Casemiro remained with the Red Devils while Fofana left on loan to Al-Ettifaq. Yet, it seems that they have not given up on their ambitious plan to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro lineup together at Al Awwal Park.

Notably, Al Nassr is not the only Middle Eastern club interested in signing the veteran midfielder. Reports reveal that Al Ahly and Al Hilal are also keen on the former Real Madrid star’s signature. However, the Red Devil’s connection could tempt Casemiro to prefer the Knights of Najd. There he can play with former partners in crime Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Telles. Moreover, at Al Nassr, Casemiro’s chances to get a starting role are easier than at Al Hilal. However, the signing won’t be easy as a major European club is also on the scene to sign the Brazilian.

Many share the opinion that Casemiro is past his prime, and lacks the conditions to thrive in the higher-level of European soccer. But, French giants PSG remain keen on the midfielder. In December 2023, BBCFootball broke the news that PSG was interested in signing the Manchester United star. Spanish coach Luis Enrique doesn’t seem convinced by his #6 options and opted to use the forward-thinking Vitinha in that role for big games this season. Hence, Casemiro would be a seamless fit for the side. But does the move make sense for him?

A move to Paris will help the Brazilian maestro continue to play at a higher level and stay in Europe. However, turning down a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be easy at all! The duo are great friends and enjoy an excellent chemistry on the pitch. After all, the pair have won an incredible 4 UCLs during their time at Madrid. One thing is for certain. Regardless of where his future lies, it seems Casemiro’s time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.
