It was beyond expectation but Al Nassr curtained the 2023/24 campaign on a disappointing note. A trophyless season for Luis Castro’s side does nothing for them but to look for greener pastures in the upcoming season. With transfer targets in mind to bolster its ranks, the Knights of the Najd are reportedly preparing a whopping $163 million offer to reunite Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes with Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was Al Nassr who was linked all the way through to sign the former Sporting CP midfielder. However, as per the sources of CaughtOffside, the addition of Al Hilal has forced the Yellow and Blue to go all in for Fernandes. They are allegedly balancing their books in order to land the 29-year-old. That’s not all as even the midfielder is bound to get a lucrative contract of around €70-80m ($76-$88m) per year from Al Nassr.
Notably, Fernandes has a contract with Manchester United until 2026. However, the recent struggles of the Red Devils, with the future of Erik ten Hag still not sorted has reportedly led the Portuguese superstar to ponder his future at the club. His stay may depend on INOES and United’s new project. Of course, United looks in the mood to sell its star skipper. That’s why both Al Nassr and even Al Hilal in that case may go deep in their pockets to sign him.

Interestingly, Fernandes isn’t alone; fellow midfielder Casemiro is also heavily linked to reunite with Ronaldo. But competing with Al Nassr for his signature is also Al Ahli, who are also ready to match their $55-$70m valuation. While Castro and Co. would certainly be eager to fend off other teams’ interest away from the midfielder duo, they won’t be facing any problems in signing this former United star!

Aside from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Al Nassr will also pursue the signature of former Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea. As per the latest reports from journalist Graeme Bailey, Cristiano Ronaldo has made a special request to the club regarding the signature of the former Spanish international. In fact, CR7 will personally urge De Gea to arrive in Riyadh and help him win silverware for Al Nassr.

It is being said that in the absence of suspended goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, David Ospina isn’t making his case to keep his spot in the team. Hence, despite a one-year gap in the CV of De Gea, who hasn’t seen action since leaving United, Al Nassr would very much like to sign the goalkeeper. Certainly, it remains to be seen how Al Nassr manages to bring either of their transfer targets while locking horns with other teams.
