The Saudi League’s done and dusted and Al Nassr has secured second place. But, Luis Castro’s side has a real opportunity to end the season on a high note. The Knights of Najd have two league games remaining against Al Riyadh and Al Ittihad. But ahead of tomorrow’s Al Riyadh match, Cristiano Ronaldo & Co have been dealt a major concern. It seems like a prominent first-team player could miss out on the clash.

As per reports on X, Al Nassr’s right back Sultan Al Ghannam is a doubt for tomorrow’s match. The defender is said to have been exposed to skin fungus on the sole of his foot. Normally, skin fungus results in itchiness and can be treated with medicated creams. So, his recovery will determine his availability. If unfit, Ghannam will be a big miss for Cristiano Ronaldo’s side.

This season, the defender has played in 22 matches. Besides keeping attackers at bay, the 30-year-old is more than handy in the attacking half of the pitch. His figures this season read 1 goal and 7 assists and has often been a difference maker for Al Nassr. As such, Luis Castro will be hoping that Sultan Al Ghannam will return to the pitch as soon as possible.

It is also worth noting that next week, Al Nassr face Al Hilal in one of the most significant matches of the season. As it stands, the King Cup is the final hope for Cristiano Ronaldo & team to win a trophy this season. Speaking of Ronaldo, the Portuguese star has had a superlative season till now and could make Saudi history tomorrow.

This season, Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to turn back the clock. In 42 games, the Portuguese star has scored 42 times while chipping in with 13 assists. He is set to finish as the leading goalscorer of the Saudi Pro League. The feat becomes even more impressive considering that CR7 is 39 years old. However, if he scores tomorrow, the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner is set to enter the history books. CR7 can break the record for most goals in a single Saudi League season, currently held by Abderrazak Hamdallah.

In the 2018/19 season, Hamdallah scored 34 goals in the league. Hence, a goal tomorrow means CR7 will equalize while a brace would help him break the record. However, there have been suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo could be rested tomorrow. The rationale is to keep him fresh for the stern encounters against Al Ittihad and Al Hilal. Regardless, even if not tomorrow, it looks like Ronaldo is set to add another one to his long list of records.
