It has been a pretty hard month to fathom for Al Nassr fans. Within a space of three to four matches, the club has distanced itself from being in a race for two major titles. But another major disappointment was an injury to Anderson Talisca, who played a key role this season scoring 25 goals in 25 games. However, the club’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly may see himself combining with the Brazilian sooner than expected.

Talisca was ruled out earlier this month because of a thigh injury and claimed that he could be out for the whole season. But more positively, the club’s second most crucial player has seen an improvement in his injury according to reports, and will possibly return before the 2023-24 season ends. Nevertheless, will this be a boost for Al Nassr?

It’s a no-brainer that the Knights of Najd need the 30-year-old. The last time Talisca was on the pitch for Al Nassr, he scored a hattrick and rescued them from losing against Al Hazm. It wasn’t the only incident where Talisca bailed Al Nassr out this season. He scored a brace against Al Shabab to keep them in the league’s title race.

Additionally, Talisca was the joint-highest scorer for Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo this season. Both of them scored 6 goals, but the Brazilian did it in a lesser number of games (5) helping them advance into the knockouts. In his absence, Al Nassr lost the QF to Al Ain in penalties, while dropping 3 points against Al Raed in the league. Since he could return during the end of the season, the club would be done with most of the meat by then.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo sustain Al Nassr for the rest of the season?

It is difficult for Al Nassr to catch up with Al Hilal in the Saudi league. Jorge Jesus’ army has already marched a long way, being 12 points clear of Al Nassr. But the goal to win trophies this season has not ended yet for Cristiano Ronaldo. The club in yellow still has the King’s Cup and the Saudi Super Cup to fight for apart from the league battle that’s not over yet. Meanwhile, the onus will be on CR7 as he is the one in form with 30 goals and 11 assists.

In addition, if Al Nassr keeps winning all their games, Anderson Talisca’s return will provide a major boost for Al Nassr in the title race. Overall, the Brazilian’s absence has already cost the club heavily with their gameplay on the pitch, but will the club hold firm until he returns? That’s the question.
