Al Nassr’s constant upgrading since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo is impressive. The club has ticked most of its boxes in terms of squad depth after getting to know how daunting the schedule can be. After the resumption of the season post the international break, there seems to be more positive news for the club in yellow, for their goalie David Ospina. Additionally, there have also been more updates ahead of their league clash against Al Shabab.
The Knights of Najd are striving to ace the Saudi Pro League this season. Despite being clinical on the pitch, dropping a few important points in the league cost them. Additionally, the club is now suffering off-field issues with a ban on players like Nawaf Alaqidi and injuries to the backup keeper Raghed Al-Najjar, and Sultan Al-Ghannam. According to reports, the first-choice goalkeeper, David Ospina, is on the pitch training.
Al-Ghannam will undergo treatment until Monday and is expected to be back for the game against Al Hazem. Meanwhile, Ospina was seen running on the pitch yesterday evening and seemed to have gotten through the recovery phase. The player is also expected to be training with the team for the next couple of days. The Colombian goalie was out of the squad for nearly a year and missed 43 games after fracturing his elbow in January 2023.

However, he then made a return in December 2023, playing for his country, but has yet to start for the club this season. Even though he played a friendly against Inter Miami, the player again limped off with a hamstring injury but now seems to be ready to go. Meanwhile, their other goalkeeper, Raghed Al-Najjar, has been ruled out as Castro feels it’s a severe injury.
