Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Al Nassr was appreciated in high spirits. But his departure from Manchester United painted a contrasting picture. Despite a historic homecoming to the Red Devils, the Portuguese superstar left the Premier League side on a poor note. While many still blame the circumstances of the departure on the player, Luis Castro has questioned the veteran’s friction with Erik ten Hag, even though CR7 ‘greatly influences people’.

Even today, Cristiano Ronaldo faces backlash from Manchester United fans for being vocal about his time at Old Trafford in Piers Morgan’s interview. However, the legendary striker’s current coach fails to understand how Ronaldo lost the support of his then-manager, ten Hag.

Ahead of Al Nassr vs Al Etiffaq, the Portuguese tactician was asked to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s sour exit from Manchester United. Interestingly, he replied, “I don’t know how someone could look at a player who greatly influences people and young people like that.” While questioning how one could ‘talk like that’ about Ronaldo, Luis Castro claimed he’s used to being ‘criticized and destroyed.‘

The 62-year-old was again questioned about Cristiano Ronaldo’s problem with the Red Devils. To which he added, “It challenges me to talk to Ronaldo and to put myself in his position and that is difficult for me. I don’t live with him and I don’t know what each of us thinks about his life and future. He’s still scoring goals and providing assists, so he had to take other paths.”

Ironically, Manchester United continues to crumble with their constant poor display. On the other hand, CR7’s fortunes have changed since he arrived at Al Nassr. The 38-year-old is enjoying his stardom in Riyadh and continues to lead the Knights of the Najd. Meanwhile, Luis Castro refuted claims that Cristiano Ronaldo overshadows him at Al Nassr.
