The team continues to prepare for the new campaign as they look to repeat the feat. Bolstering the squad ahead of the new season is on Wrexham’s mind. They may have drawn up a list of several players they’re keen to bring to the Racecourse Ground. Apparently, among them is a well-rated midfielder, Daniel Johnson. The player is linked with a move to north-eastern Wales.

The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract expired with Preston North End. Starting his career at Aston Villa, he has played for several Championship clubs, including Yeovil Town, Chesterfield FC, Oldham Athletic, and then Preston. It was at Preston that he enjoyed the majority of his career, as he made 300 appearances in eight years.

Given his prior experience, Johnson can be a great addition to Reynolds’ side. However, they are facing a big hurdle for his signature. Being a free agent, the Jamaican also has the option to sign for Stoke City and reunite with his former manager, Alex Neil. Hence, the $9 billion-worth Coates family’s soccer club is also keen on the midfielder.
