According to Diario AS, in the post-match interview, Dunn stated, “Yeah, I think for us it’s really just learning from this moment, turning the page and almost being a goldfish, as Ted Lasso said, because we have to have short-term memory right now. I think for us, we have to focus on the next match. Between now and then, [we need to] just get together, be unified, and move forward.” The goldfish idiom is a popular one that most people can relate to. 

Ted Lasso is a TV show celebrated for its entertainment and soccer. With Jason Sudeikis playing inspirational coach, it’s a fictional story about a soccer club struggling to make it to the big leagues. Similarly to the WWE, they do a fine job of not breaking the kayfabe and reality. In one episode, Ted motivates his player Sam by stating he should be a goldfish.
