After a successful campaign in the National League, Wrexham AFC wants to bolster their squad for the 2023/24 season. They have the star power to attract big names to the club. Despite that, manager Phil Parkinson explained how they could avoid a thorough surgery for the squad. The players at their disposal are more than enough to challenge for the title. However, like every club, they try to freshen the troop up. Some time back, they went all in for Gareth Bale, as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney wanted to bring him into the soccer club. But as the target faded away, here turns up a new superstar they could sign.

The fans are happy with the latest rumors of a Scottish player who looks to be a rock at the back of the club. With Ben Foster extending his contract, the club prepares to sign another player who can make a difference.

According to the club fan, Sam Higgins tweeted“If Wrexham sign Kal Naismith that will be one hell of a statement signing! Worth the wait!”. Kal Naismith is one of the best players in the market for a club of Wrexham’s stature. Hence, fans remain excited about the move of the star player who can make a difference. Although he never made the Scottish national team, he appeared for the Scotland under-16 and 17 squads to serve his nation.

One of his best spells came with Portsmouth as he won the EFL League Two with the club in 2016/17. He helped the team to win the league and scored 13 goals in the campaign. Likewise, he became Luton Town’s 2021-22 player of the season after a stunning campaign. Therefore, the incoming player can make a difference to the club.

Looking at his stats, he averages 2.37 tackles, along with over 1.14 interceptions. He also makes 1.09 blocks and 3.33 clearances per 90 in the last season. The club will receive a defender who loves to be a rock. Although signing Gareth Bale would have raised the bar, Naismith will be a solid acquisition.

The failed signing of Gareth Bale

After getting promoted, Rob tweeted about convincing Bale to sign for the club. He tweeted, “Hey @GarethBale11 let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season.” To this, Bale replied, “Depends what course.” He is off soccer to focus on golf. He wants to create a difference there.

But having Bale in the league would have been amazing. The goals and the assists would be plenty. But it never materialized. For now, they can focus on the other targets. Are you excited about Big Kal?
