The 74-year-old revealed that she had issues with Hoddle and she expressed her disappointment with him openly. After Beckham’s red card, Hoddle, during a presser, blamed the English winger for letting his country down. Sandra, however, expected the manager to back her son after the loss to Argentina. The soccer legend’s mother said in the documentary, “I just put him on my hit list. People that upset me.”

Later, when Sophia Thomalla came across the words of Sandra, she shared them in her Instagram story. The German tennis player’s girlfriend wrote, “David Beckham’s mom is a genius.” Being a loving mother, Sandra was badly hurt when her son was targeted by his own coach. Back then, the former English player went through a challenging period, and fans were not kind to Becks.

The team later lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout. This led to the now 48-year-old receiving intense backlash from fans.
