Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr seem to be enjoying soccer following their departure from Paris Saint Germain. The former Barcelona stars have moved to different clubs following their time in the French capital. While many expected PSG to take time and settle following the loss of two key players, the side has fared well in retrospection. Adding fuel to the fire, a soccer journalist recently commented on the situation, claiming that he believes PSG is playing better soccer without La Pulga and the Brazilian icon.

CBS correspondent Jonathan Johnson has given a surprising statement regarding PSG’s playstyle in a recent podcast. The soccer analyst believes that the side is functioning better as a unit following the departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar. Talking to PSG Talk, Johnson had this to say:
“Has to be work-rate. It’s not embellishing or over-exaggerating that with Neymar and Messi on the pitch, there wasn’t the same sort of defending from the front. And that desire to sort of run, close the opposition down, and really try to put as much pressure on the opponents as possible.”
While PSG may have been enjoying their time after the departure of their star players, both Lionel Messi and Neymar have also profited from their exit. The two players seem to be happy once again playing the sport they enjoy. Both stars following their exit from the club raised concerns about the club’s mentality and the fan treatment towards their players during their stay at the club.

“I was very happy for the year he had but at the same time very sad because he’s experienced both sides of the coin. He’s gone to heaven with the Argentina national team. He’s won everything in recent years, and with Paris, he lived through hell. We lived through hell, both he and I.”
While Neymar ditched PSG to make a move to Al Hilal, many believed the player was forced out of the club. Both Lionel Messi and Neymar had tough years in the French capital as they failed to help the side lift the Champions League title. With the two players commanding a massive paycheck, PSG ultras were not happy with the performances produced by the two players and missed no chance to make their feelings known.
