Neymar Jr. has had a difficult last few weeks in his personal life. Despite suffering an injury that kept him from making his Al Hilal debut; the Brazilian icon’s life has been in the news because of the environmental violations by the soccer star. With the Brazilian FA already having removed his teammates for charges against them; the ex-PSG star is now under scrutiny and facing increasing demands for his removal from the squad due to these violations.
The call for the Brazilian’s exclusion from the National Team stems from the environmental infractions conducted by Neymar Jr in his private property. As per reports, the Al Hilal star is under the scanner for the construction of an additional structure in his property which violates laws. Hence, environmental activists are urging the Selecao to not belittle the violations and thus drop the Brazilian icon from the squad for the World Cup qualifiers this month.

The Brazilian National Team, after a disappointing FIFA World Cup 2023, would have looked forward to starting the next World Cup in full force. Just before the first qualifiers, the Selecao faced a situation that required them to eliminate two starters from the lineup. They acted against midfielder Lucas Paquetá by dropping him from the team due to his involvement in a betting scandal. Also, they excluded winger Antony from the squad due to reports of his assault on his ex-girlfriend.
Amidst this chaos, OUL columnist Walter Casagrande is rallying the exclusion of Neymar Jr. from the squad as well for his environmental crimes. However, Walter believes that the Selecao are turning a blind eye to it since they don’t value environmental crimes.
“The CBF cut one player on suspicion of participating in a betting scheme (Lucas Paquetá) and another who assaulted his girlfriend (Antony), but turned a blind eye to Neymar, who committed an environmental crime,” Casagrande shouted in a UOL podcast.
Casagrande’s claims despite being novel are based on integrity and equity of law. His concern is based on the fact that environmental violations are as grievous as financial scams and assaults. This sentiment quickly resonated with netizens around the world with many now condemning the Al Hilal star for his disregard for the environment.

Neymar Jr. is one of the richest soccer stars in the world. Hence it’s natural that he can use his abundant resources to construct a housing structure as per will. However, these things can take a sour turn if these constructions are undertaken in ignorance of the law. Something similar happened with Neymar’s mansion in Mangaratiba, Rio de Janeiro.
At Mangaratiba, the Brazilian icon purchased a sprawling 21,000 m² mansion. Nonetheless, his additional construction of an artificial lake landed him in trouble since that violated environmental guidelines. Thus the Brazilian icon has been fined a whopping $3,200,000 for his violations so far. The irony however stems from the fact that the ex PSG star purchased this property for just $1.27 million.
